Capacity Building Programs

For those people who are in recovery from mental illness, or who are living with severe psychosocial disability, a person’s interpersonal confidence and social skills can be significantly impacted and they can become socially isolated. Capacity building programs offer an informal way to meet people, develop new skills and take part in recreational activities they may not otherwise have experienced. These programs not only improve an individual’s quality of life but also offer valuable opportunities for personal growth and development.

Capacity Building Programs are available with NDIS funding or can be paid for privately if the person does not have access to the NDIS.

The sessions are currently on hold due to COVID-19 but will hopefully begin in the latter part of 2022 or early 2023. It is anticipated that the programs on offer initially will include Local Snorkelling and ‘Girls’ Trips Away. In the future we also hope to have a local singing group or choir, and potentially trips to Adventure parks. We do not want to replicate other services. Our aim is to build programs that consumers would like but that don’t currently exist.
